Daily Acts You'll Dig!
You’ve probably heard it many times before: our every action and choice makes a difference. Well, here’s an organization that’s putting that maxim into practice . . . and creating a vibrant, more resilient, wide-awake, abundance-focused community in the process! It’s called Daily Acts, based in Petaluma, CA.
Started in 2002, Daily Acts is a non-profit organization dedicated to environmental awareness and sustainability education, growing grassroots leadership, and building community self-reliance. They do this through their widely popular sustainability tours and workshops, cool community events, creating alternative media such as their Ripples Journal. Their latest effort, Project Homegrown, is a program designed to build community and to empower people, households, and neighborhoods to implement these new-found inspirations, knowledge, and skills in their daily lives.
Daily Acts is helping to inspire hearts and minds through hands-on workshops focused on skills such as converting lawns to edible landscapes, installing water conservation systems, and learning food preservation techniques. Daily Acts is helping address an often widespread sense of fear and disempowerment by inspiring, educating, and empowering concerned citizens to BE the change they wish to see, to live abundant lives which in turn enrich the world.
"Our vision is to create a healthy, just and reverent human culture, one act at a time. By providing inspiring sustainability education and media, we empower people to harness the significant impact of simple daily actions rooted in care for people and planet."
This is an exciting model for what other communities can create together. Balancing inspiration and urgency with integrity and creativity, Daily Acts is sending out many positive ripples into the world, one mindful act at a time!
