About the author

John Jeavons is a master gardener and ecologist. He is the director of Ecology Action, a non-profit environmental research and educational organization which was formed in 1970 and is located in the mountains of Northern California. Ecology Action has helped revolutionize sustainable gardening and mini-farming around the world.

Jeavons has twice been nominated for the World Food Prize, and has received numerous other awards. A graduate of Yale University, he is the author and editor of over 30 publications. He and Ecology Action have been featured in the PBS programs "Circle of Plenty" and "Market to Market."
